Faith Formation for K-1; 3-6

The 2025-2026 Faith Formation year includes regular family participation in the Sunday Mass combined with in-person and at home faith formation sessions  using Pflaum Gospel Weeklies.
  • In person sessions: Families attend the Sunday 9:30AM Mass at St. Joseph's Church and gather in the Parish Hall immediately following the Mass to enjoy fellowship, prayer, and refreshments.
  •  After opening prayer, students proceed to their classes to further break open the Gospel readings until 12pm.
  • At home sessions: Students take home Gospel Weeklies for the off weeks to complete at home and bring back to the next in-person session. We heavily encourage going to Mass on the at home weeks to deepen your relationships with Christ.
  • We will have several Faith Festivals throughout the Liturgical Seasons to provide resources, crafts, and fun ways to foster your domestic church.

First Reconciliation and
First Communion

Children preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion follow the same schedule as the other program with additional dates in the year.
  • They include the 9:30AM Mass and class that follows.
  • It is important the children and their family attend Mass as they prepare for this Sacrament as the Mass(Eucharist) is the Source and Summit of our Faith and strengthens our relationship with Christ.
  • We use a comprehensive program including videos, in-person and at-home activities, and workbooks to help better understand these two Sacraments.
  • Additionally, parents receive formation on the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. This provides an opportunity for parents to prepare themselves as the primary teachers of the Faith, especially during such an important year.

Confirmation
7th-10th Grade

"Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit - his actions, his gifts, and his biddings - in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community. The latter bears special responsibility for the preparation of confirmands." CCC, 1309

*Confirmation age changed to 8th Grade*
Over the next two years, we will be moving to 8th grade as the year for children to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, in obedience to the Cardinal's decision. This requires changes in our program and will involve transitions before we settle into a more permanent program. We ask for your patience and grace as we make these important changes.
The content and materials will look different for each level in the coming years.

A basic part of our program includes regular weekly Mass Attendance and 10 Parish Involvement Hours over the two years.

Parish Involvement Includes: volunteering at an event, participating in a ministry (altar serving, choir, greeter), attending and participating in a parish event, etc.

For the 2025-2026 School Year:
  • Students in 8th, 9th, and 10th who have completed one year of Confirmation Prep will enter their second year and be confirmed Spring of 2026.
  • Students joining us for the first time in 8th, 9th, and 10th grade will begin their first year of our two-year Confirmation program, with Confirmation in Spring of 2027.
  • All 7th graders will begin their first year of Confirmation Prep and will be confirmed Spring of 2027.
